FDA panel rejects REMS proposal for long-acting opioids
September 15th 2010FDA advisory committee members voted 25 to 10 to reject a proposed plan to establish a risk evaluation and mitigation strategy for extended-release and long-acting opioid analgesics during the joint meeting on July 23 of the Anesthetic and Life Support Drugs Advisory Committee and the Drug Safety and Risk Management Advisory Committee in Adelphi, Md.
Methamphetamine: Prescription-only or e-tracking systems?

NACDS elects new board chairman and awards scholarships

NCPA backs legislation to rein in PBM practices, preserve seniors' access to diabetes supplies
May 14th 2010The National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) has endorsed two legislative bills that are aimed at controlling healthcare costs by requiring greater transparency of pharmacy benefit managers (PBM) and ensuring that Medicare patients with diabetes can continue to obtain their medical supplies from their local community pharmacies, during its 42nd annual National Legislation and Government Affairs Conference held in Washington last week.
