ACIP updates its immunization schedule, 2008
The CDC's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) has published its 2008 recommended immunization schedule for persons aged 0 to 18 years of age. Among the changes from last year is an update for using the pneumococcal conjugate vaccine in children who incompletely vaccinated. Also, live attenuated influenza vaccine is now recommended for healthy children as young as two years old. Vaccination with meningococcal conjugate vaccine is preferred to the polysaccharide product (MPSV4) for children at risk for meningococcal disease. Targeted Drug Combination Reveals New Activity in Brain Tumors
December 28th 2021A combination of two targeted cancer drugs showed unprecedented, “clinically meaningful” activity in patients with highly malignant brain tumors that carried a rare genetic mutation, according to a clinical trial report by investigators from Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
