Big Y pharmacies help visually impaired learn about their meds
January 10th 2014Springfield, Mass.-based Big Y is the latest retail pharmacy to add special print and audio prescription labels for those with vision impairments. Two of Big Y’s stores in Rocky Hill, Conn., and Longmeadow, Mass., are adding either a large print 'ScripView' label or an electronic 'ScripTalk' label to medications for those with low vision.

Mylan donates $3 million for typhoon relief efforts
January 6th 2014In its largest gift ever to AmeriCares, Mylan has donated more than $3 million in medicines to aid that organization’s Typhoon Haiyan relief efforts in the Philippines. The various medicines will be used to treat patients with infections, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases.
Baxter voluntarily recalls select lots of premix parenteral nutrition
January 6th 2014Baxter International has initiated a voluntary recall in the United States of 2 lots of premixed sterile intravenous (IV) parenteral nutrition products: CLINIMIX (Amino Acid in Dextrose) Injection and CLINIMIX E (Amino Acid with Electrolytes in Dextrose with Calcium) Injections to the user level because of complaints of particulate matter found in the products.
