AmerisourceBergen's Orlando, Fla., distribution center is distributing controlled substances again. This comes after its license was suspended by the DEA, which charged the wholesaler with inadequate measures to prevent diversion of controlled substances by Internet pharmacies. The new measures the wholesaler has instituted include more rigorous monitoring of scheduled drug orders especially to new customers and halting shipments that require further investigations by the company. The Valley Forge, Pa., firm said that its new program, which was rolled out to all of its distribution centers in July, is expected to become the industry standard.
