As drug reimbursement policies change, one question keeps popping up. What will replace average wholesale price?

Any benchmark that replaces AWP must be valid, widely available, stable, transparent, standardized, and comprehensive, according to speakers at a recent online seminar on drug reimbursement conducted by Avalere Health.
Presentations covered the pros and cons of each of several pricing benchmarks. Among the contenders to replace AWP - if it should be entirely replaced - are wholesale acquisition cost (WAC), average acquisition cost (AAC), average sales price (ASP), average manufacturer price (AMP), and average acquisition cost (AAC), according to Jenna Stento of Avalere Health.
