APhA DrugInfoLine, an online publication that provides drug-news updates to members of the American Pharmacists Association (APhA), has named Kristin W. Weitzel editor-in-chief.
“We are pleased to have Kristin on the APhA periodicals team,” said Thomas E. Menighan, BSPharm, MBA, ScD, APhA executive vice president and CEO. “APhA members have come to rely on ADIL for the news and updates about clinical therapeutics they need in their daily medication therapy management practices. The Board of Trustees and the APhA staff look forward to working with Kristin as she and her team maintain the high standards and utility of ADIL.”
Weitzel, PharmD, CDE, FAPhA, began with APhA in 2012 as a contributing writer. She is clinical associate professor and associate director of the Personalized Medicine Program at the University of Florida College of Pharmacy in Gainesville, Fla. She was formerly associate editor and director of editorial projects at Pharmacist’s Letter/Prescriber’s Letter.
“ADIL meets an important need for APhA members by providing up-to-date information on drug therapy developments that affect pharmacy practice,” Weitzel said. “My goal as ADIL grows is to identify and highlight timely and relevant pharmacotherapy updates that are important to the profession. I look forward to an exciting time of finding new ways in which ADIL can meet members’ needs and engage pharmacists.”
L. Michael Posey, BSPharm, MA, editor of ADIL since its inception in 2000, and currently associate vice president of periodicals at APhA, will become executive editor of the newsletter.
