In an effort to modernize its computer systems, Veterans Affairs will implement First DataBank's National Drug Data File (NDDF) Plus drug database to replace its National Drug File database. The project is part of a major reengineering of all of VA's computer, software, and database systems in an effort to modernize its infrastructure. First DataBank's NDDF Plus provides descriptions, prices, and clinical information on drugs. It includes FDA-approved medications, OTCs, and dietary supplements. First DataBank will also provide clinical decision support tools as part of the package.
