Unleashing the Inventory Superpowers of Pharmacy Techs

Managing the inventory of an independent pharmacy is not a glorious job, but one that can truly change the outlook for a pharmacy.

"Inventory can make or break a pharmacy if its not handled correctly," said Mike Vesely, Pharmacy Business Coach at DiversifyRx, during the session Chaos to Control: Unleashing the Inventory Superpowers of Techs during the July 2023 Total Pharmacy Solutions Summit.

And how exactly do pharmacists make sure that inventory is handled correctly? First and foremost, by making sure they are properly staffed.

"I have found very few pharmacies where the technicians aren't integral to the inventory process," said Mike Johnston, CPhT-Adv, BCSCPT, BCNCPT, founder and CEO of National Pharmacy Technician Association. "But there is still opportunities for education and training and mindset work."
