Chelsee Jensen, PharmD, BCPS, senior pharmacy specialist at the Mayo Clinic, discusses her career and how biosimilars will impact the pharmacy profession in the coming years.
Chelsee Jensen, PharmD, BCPS, senior pharmacy specialist at the Mayo Clinic, works in the supply chain and finance field as a pharmaceutical formulary manager. She has spearheaded a biosimilar implementation initiative across the entire Mayo Clinic and believes biosimilars are going to have a big impact on the pharmacy profession.
However, Jensen said that a key step going forward will be to figure out what the tools are that everyone needs in their toolbox to facilitate easy implementation. She also added that there's still work to be done on both the inpatient and outpatient setting, as well as how medical and pharmacy will benefit with smoothing biosimilar transitions.
As a part of Drug Topics’ continuous coverage of American Pharmacists Month, Jensen joined us to discuss how her career has unfolded, a program she worked on that exemplifies the value of pharmacists in patient care, opportunities for pharmacists to expand their role, how biosimilars will impact the pharmacy profession in the coming years.
