Shaughnessy joins AMCP; APhA names new governance director
April Shaughnessy, R.Ph., has joined the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) in a newly created position as director of external relations. She was most recently deputy to the executive VP for governance of APhA, where she had been for the past 20 years. APhA has named Jennifer Athay, Pharm.D., as Shaughnessy's replacement with the title of director of governance. Athay has served as associate director of student development at APhA.
In a separate development, APhA, which recently announced Catherine Polley's departure as chief policy officer and senior VP of government/professional affairs is close to naming her replacement, having already identified several prime candidates for the position.
