The Partnership for Safe Medicines coalition's SafeMeds Alert System has become part of the FDA's Counterfeit Alert Network. The SafeMeds system broadcasts e-mail alerts about counterfeit drugs from government health agencies. To receive free alerts, go to http://www.safemedicines.org/ and click on the SafeMeds Alert button to register. The coalition, which includes pharmacists and pharmacy educators, has also offered the alert system as a potential project for collaboration among major healthcare stakeholders worldwide.
