Pharmacists will have the chance to mix fun with education and outreach during American Pharmacists Month in October. Events ranging from a haunted house of medical errors, to a basketball game, to a free medication therapy management clinic are just some parts of a large slate of activities designed to educate and celebrate the important role of pharmacists in the healthcare system. For many pharmacists the overarching goal is to raise the profile of pharmacists nationwide. The final week of the month has also been dubbed National Hospital & Health-System Pharmacy Week, which begins Oct. 22. During that week, ASHP plans to roll out a television public service announcement about the important role of hospital pharmacists.
