Alvin Woody, owner of two North Carolina pharmacies, has been indicted on drug distribution and money laundering charges in connection with an illegal Rx drug operation. According to U.S. attorney Gretchen Shappert, millions of dosage units of hydrocodone and alprazolam were distributed nationwide based on illegitimate Rxs. Woody, a physician, and a Web site owner are all accused of conspiring to distribute the controlled substances between August 2002 and May 2006.
