The Total Pharmacy Solutions Summit is kicking off 2025 with its first event of the year on March 29, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. With its focus on clinical practice expansion, the March summit was formulated to help community pharmacies and their employees nurture growth, cultivate relationships, and harvest a healthy community.

This month’s event will feature multiple sessions curated by some of the industry’s most notable players in pharmacy practice expansion, including experts in technology designed to streamline operations and partners within community pharmacy dedicated to driving the profession forward.

The keynote speaker for the event is going to be Micah Cost, PharmD, MS, CAE, CEO of the Pharmacy Quality Alliance. He will be giving a presentation titled “Transforming Pharmacy Practice to Deliver Value.”

“Opportunities for pharmacies to partner with health plans and other payers to provide pharmacist-provided care and related pharmacy services are growing,” according to the session details. “PQA CEO Micah Cost will share insights on the transforming pharmacy practice and payment landscape, the role of quality measures in supporting pharmacy-payer value-based arrangements, and 5 actions that will position pharmacies and their partners for success.”

In the current community pharmacy landscape, pharmacists and proprietors are constantly faced with financial challenges and regulatory framework that impedes the pharmacy’s ability to generate revenue. With expertise in pharmacy payment structures, Cost will provide insights to empower community pharmacists and their knowledge of practice finances.

Other featured speakers include:

Ashley Keller, CPhT, Product Manager, Clinical Services at XiFin, Inc, is hosting a session titled “Transform Your Pharmacy into a Thriving Community Health Hub.” From improving documentation to streamlining patient check-in, Keller will discuss how her company is helping community pharmacies become an efficient hub for patient-centric services.

“The pharmacy marketplace is constantly evolving, and it’s crucial to stay ahead of the changes,” said Keller prior to her presentation. “By attending this session, pharmacists and staff will have the opportunity to hear how pharmacies across the country are successfully documenting, billing, and getting paid for clinical services, which can provide valuable insights and strategies to implement in their own practices.”

Next, summit attendees will be joined by Stephanie Downing, MBA, Sr. Product Manager at Outcomes. Hosting a session titled “Expanding Pharmacy Services: Unlocking Clinical Workflow Efficiency & Revenue Growth,” her goal is to help pharmacists understand industry trends, identify billing and workflow challenges, and discover technological solutions.

For attendees looking to gain continued education (CE) credits, the March Total Pharmacy Solutions Summit will feature 2 CE sessions hosted by Gregory Castelli, PharmD, FCCP, BCPS, BC-ADM, CDCES,Associate Professor and Director of the Academic and Clinical Pharmacy Department of Family Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and Rupal Mansukhani, PharmD, CTTS, FAPhA, Clinical Professor at the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers University.

Castelli’s session will explore innovations in diabetes management, specifically opportunities in the use of insulin pumps, while Mansukhani will discuss the prevention of respiratory syncytial virus among adults.

Finally, the event’s last 2 sessions will be hosted by Amanda Wiley, Marketing Manager at Healthsource Marketing, and Dae Lee, PharmD, Esq, CPBS, Shareholder at Buchanan, Ingersoll & Rooney PC. Wiley’s session is titled “At-Home Testing: How Can Pharmacy Play a Role?” and will explore revolutionary devices for making at-home testing easier than it has ever been before. Lee’s presentation is titled “Navigating Legal and Billing Challenges in Pharmacists’ Clinical Services: Compliance, Reimbursement, and Opportunities.” He will discuss the ongoing legislation impacting pharmacies services.

“The pharmacy landscape is changing rapidly, and pharmacists must adapt to remain competitive,” concluded Downing in a quote prior to the event. “By attending this summit and this session, pharmacists will gain the knowledge and tools necessary to expand their clinical services, improve patient outcomes, and strengthen their business model in an increasingly service-driven industry.”
