The power of community pharmacy has been on display this week at McKesson Corporation’s ideaShare 2018 conference in Las Vegas. The annual forum is designed to help independent pharmacy owners improve their businesses, with interactive exhibits and workshops.
“Our goal is for community pharmacies to be a destination for the healthy and a solution center for the sick,” Chris Dimos, president of Health Mart and McKesson Retail Solutions, tells Drug Topics.
“This is a goal we share with the more than 5,000 people representing over 2,000 pharmacies attending ideaShare this year-we’ve seen record attendance.”
Attendees had access to more than 100 educational sessions intended to help them maximize their clinical, operational, and financial performance.
“McKesson continues to invest in clinical solutions, revenue generating tools and technology designed to help independent pharmacies provide quality care for their patients, while also improving their business performance,” says Nick Loporcaro, president of McKesson U.S. Pharmaceutical and Specialty Health, in a statement. Loporcaro adds that, in addition to highlighting several new solutions, ideaShare 2018 featured more peer-to-peer networking and learning opportunities that gave attendees the information and skills that they can use to enhance their businesses.
