The Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) is working with state, local, and federal emergency officials in the Texas region to ensure medicine and supplies are available to people affected by Hurricane Ike.
PhRMA member companies are advising RxResponse, a consortium of groups that work together to make sure vital medicines are readily available after a natural or man-made disaster. "We will do all we can to assist emergency managers in Texas and everyone affected by Hurricane Ike," PhRMA president and CEO Billy Tauzin said. "We are working together with key players in the pharmaceutical supply system and with emergency managers on the ground to help ensure that medicines get to the patients, hospitals and emergency evacuation centers where they are needed most."
