CPhA has warned pharmacies that their stores must have aisles that are wide enough for wheelchair bound patients to go through or they risk being sued.
The California Pharmacists Association has notified its members about a recent uptick in lawsuits against independent pharmacies in Southern California over violations to the Americans with Disabilities Act. Handicapped patients have been visiting pharmacies to see if their wheelchairs can get around the aisles in the stores. CPhA warned that pharmacies must comply with ADA regulations to avoid being sued.
