Scott Pelley, CBS Evening News anchor and managing editor, will be the keynote speaker for the 13th Annual NACDS Foundation Dinner on November 29, 2011, in New York City.
Pelley, an Emmy-award-winning journalist, will discuss U.S. and world events. Pelley and his “60 Minutes” team provided independent coverage of 2003’s invasion of Iraq, rather than make use of “embedded reporters.” In 2008, Pelley conducted a rare interview with Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, and he was granted the only interview with President George W. Bush given on the first anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
“We look forward to his captivating accounts and energizing message, crafted with the benefit of a 20-year career on the front line of news and politics,” said Edith Rosato, RPh, president of the NACDS Foundation.
Every year, the financial support provided by benefactors at the Foundation Dinner is used to develop programs and research to further patient care through community pharmacy. “The NACDS Foundation values the opportunity to present highly relevant insights on an evening that celebrates the NACDS Foundation’s highly relevant work to advance public health,” Rosato said.
