ScripNet, a pharmacy benefit manager that specializes in workers' compensation insurance, is backing the Texas Department of Insurance mandate that workers' compensation carriers accept e-billing from healthcare providers as of Jan. 1, 2008. According to a statement released by the company, it will be fully compliant with Texas' e-billing requirements, so that all pharmacies, whether on or off the ScripNet network, can bill carriers electronically for workers' compensation prescriptions. The Texas Department of Insurance has already adopted standards used by many pharmacies and PBMs to communicate with one another.
