At the Fall 2024 Total Pharmacy Solutions Summit, held virtually on October 19, Ian Stone, Senior Vice President at Mesmerize, gave attendees a rundown of community pharmacy. His company, Mesmerize, is a point-of-care media company dedicated to connecting people with valuable information, resources, and tools that empower them to proactively manage their health and improve their lives.
In his presentation, Stone took a deep dive into community pharmacy and explored what pharmacists should be doing to create a connection within their communities. He mentioned how community pharmacies are becoming health care destinations for patients to receive more convenient but still quality care. If pharmacists are able to extend themselves as a resource to the community, more patients would receive care and more pharmacies would secure a more consistent revenue.
Stone’s presentation, titled “Patient Engagement and the Future of Community Pharmacy as a Health Care Destination,” focused on helping attendees learn valuable insights and strategies about how pharmacies can provide health care to customers beyond the traditional scope of services. From point-of-care testing to the ever-expanding immunization role, pharmacists are living in unprecedented times within the history of health care.
