Omnicare swallows specialty pharmacy

Omnicare Inc. has acquired specialty pharmacy provider Advanced Care Scripts in Orlando, Fla. The Covington, Ky., firm explained that it bought the firm because specialty pharmacy is one of the fastest-growing sectors in the industry. No purchase price was revealed. However, Omnicare stated that Advanced Care Scripts revenues are running at an annual rate of about $212 million.
