Nova Diabetes Care voluntarily recalled 21 lots of the Nova Max Glucose Test Strips because they may report a false, abnormally high blood glucose result. Such false results could lead to insulin dosage errors.
The tests strips were distributed both in the United States and elsewhere. They may have been sold separately or as part of Nova Max Plus glucose meter kits.
Consumers and healthcare officials can assess a list of the recalled lots at the Nova Diabetes Care website or by calling 1-800-681-7390.
Adverse events resulting from use of the test strips should be reported to FDA’s MedWatch.
