New product automates IV dosing workflow
Software manages and tracks every IV dose administered by hospitals
ForHealth Technologies has developed software that manages and tracks IV doses dispensed in hospitals. The IntelliFlowRx I.V. Room Workflow Manager uses high-resolution imaging and bar-code scanning verification to streamline the IV dose compounding and checking processes. The solution, which can be used remotely, eliminates the need for hospital pharmacists to inspect IV doses during preparation, company officials said. Dennis Tribble, ForHealth Technologies CTO, called IntelliFlowRx the "first new technology to impact the IV room in more than a decade and the first product that takes a fresh look at how IV rooms operate." IntelliFlowRx uses standard PCs and peripherals, the Internet, and hospitals' existing network infrastructures to operate. The product will be available to hospitals in April.
