New DEA fee lower than what was proposed
DEA has issued a final rule regarding new registration fees. As of Nov. 1, pharmacies applying or renewing their DEA registration must pay an annual fee of $184. This fee is lower than what the agency proposed back last year. In the Nov. 16, 2005, Federal Register, DEA had proposed an annual fee of $191. In the new final rule, published in the Aug. 29 Federal Register, DEA also ruled that a three-year registration fee will cost pharmacies $551.
