NACDS president/CEO Steven Anderson issued a statement regarding the recent passage of the concurrent budget resolution in the House of Representatives on a 216 to 210 vote. The statement said, "While NACDS is pleased that the House has rejected the $1.2 billion in additional pharmacy reimbursement cuts the Bush Administration requested in its budget, we are disappointed that the budget resolution fails to provide funding to help reverse the $8 billion in cuts that the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005 will impose. NACDS had urged the Senate and House to reject these additional cuts in their budget resolutions." Anderson went on to say that NACDS will continue to work with the House and Senate to ensure that the final budget resolution provides funding to permit retail pharmacy to continue to serve Medicaid patients in communities throughout the country.
