APhA 2024 will take place March 22 to March 25 in Orlando, Florida.
The annual meeting and exposition of the American Pharmacists Association, APhA 2024, kicks off in just 2 days in Orlando, Florida. Drug Topics staff will join pharmacists, students, new practitioners, technicians, and researchers on the convention floor to bring you the latest news and insights from the event.
This year’s theme, Unleashing the Power of Pharmacy, was designed to empower pharmacists to use their collective strength to drive innovation and positive change in the profession. Nearly 400 educational sessions will be offered across 40 different tracks, including community pharmacy, digital health, well-being, pain and substance use disorder, and much more.
Friday’s opening General Session will feature keynote Ryan Leak, best-selling author, executive coach, and motivational speaker. He will talk about the value of failure, and how it can push us to achieve successes we never thought possible. On Sunday, Carey Lohrenz will take the stage as the keynote speaker for the second General Session. As the first female F-14 Tomcat Fighter pilot in the US Navy, Lohrenz will talk about her experience in the all-male environment of fighter aviation and insights from the lessons she’s learned in her career. Both keynote speakers will address the theme of this year’s event by offering guidance on harnessing and unleashing the power in our own professional lives.
“In a post-pandemic world, pharmacists are at the forefront of change. APhA 2024 empowers us to showcase our leadership in patient care, bridging health care gaps and making a lasting impact. We’ve proven our strength; now let’s transform our role in health care,” the meeting website wrote.
