The accuracy of self-monitoring kits for hypertension and diabetes can vary greatly, according to the September issue of Consumer Reports. The magazine evaluated 16 blood pressure monitors, taking 6,000 readings from patients and comparing the results from self-monitoring kits with those obtained by medical professionals.
