A new Web site is offering a search engine of Internet pharmacies to identify those that meet standards of quality and business practices.
A consumer-oriented Web site, www.legitscript.com, is offering a search engine for legitimate online pharmacies. The service is free for both consumers and pharmacies and has a search engine that identifies whether a pharmacy meets the company's standards of quality and safe business practices. According to the company, later this year it will also add a prescription drug price comparison tool and information about insurance and health plans accepted by approved Internet pharmacies. Of the 500 Internet pharmacies in the LegitScript search engine, 325 are identified as not meeting its verification standards, 15 are approved, and the rest are under review.
