Various organizations recently gathered at a Joint Commission of Pharmacy Practitioners (JCPP) strategic planning retreat in Alexandria, Virginia.
During JCPP’s Advancing the JCPP Vision for Pharmacy Practice meeting, participants discussed ways to advance the pharmacy profession and strengthen the pharmacist’s role in healthcare. Specifically, participants started the process of crafting a revised JCPP Vision of Pharmacy Practice targeted action plan with collective benchmarks.
Participants included Thomas E. Menighan, APhA executive vice president and chair of the JCPP meeting; Beverly Johnson, president and CEO of the Institute for Patient and Family Centered Care; and Lucinda Maine, PhD, executive vice president of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. JCPP’s next meeting is scheduled for November 7, 2013.
