In a joint venture between Sanovia Corp. and the Advanced Concepts Institute (ACI), a department within the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia (USP), a library of evidence-based prior-authorization criteria for the appropriate use of high-cost drugs and biologics will be developed. The duo will form a Clinical Excellence Council, made up of independent experts and healthcare practitioners, including pharmacists and physicians, who will put together the guidelines. Sanovia will then use the criteria for the benefit of its clients to improve health outcomes and lower costs. Sanovia is privately held with no ownership held by a PBM, health plan, or pharmaceutical manufacturer. ACI was founded to build USP partnerships with healthcare organizations.
