A new interactive Web site for seniors has been launched by Carex Health Brands to help them with their in-home healthcare needs.
Carex, based in Oakland, Calif., recently launched Carex Care Connection ( http://www.carex.com/ccc), which allows seniors and caregivers to get information on products, share their stories, and take part in discounts and giveaways.
"Caregivers and seniors are online and looking for information. The idea was to start building a community around people who use our products," said Nathalie Kim, vice president of marketing for Carex. The interactivity component of the site, which will allow users to post questions and comments, will probably be added sometime this year.
According to the company, its products, which include bathroom safety aids and hot and cold therapy aids, help facilitate at-home care, which may help seniors to reside on their own or with children, rather than in traditional institutional-care facilities.
