Cardinal advances RFID pilot
Cardinal Health's RFID pilot will attach tracking tags to the labels of drugs at a facility in New Jersey. The drugs will then be shipped to a Philadelphia facility, which will encode an electronic product code standard data at the unit, case, and pallet level during the packaging process. The products will then be shipped to an Ohio distribution center where the data will be read and authenticated under normal operating conditions. The tagged products will be sent to a healthcare provider who will test the RFID tag read rates and data flow.
