ASHP creates center for pharmacy workforce development

ASHP has created a new on-line resource center to help further the development of a highly skilled pharmacy workforce. The ASHP Pharmacy Workforce Resource Center is available to pharmacy directors, practitioners, and others in health care to help manage pharmacy staff, foster the development of key competencies, research workforce-related statistics, and monitor the supply and demand of pharmacists. The center features dozens of ASHP reports that tackle issues such as pharmacy worker demographics and the increasing demand for qualified professionals. In addition, the center contains resources on residency training and certification, information on pharmacy vacancy and turnover rates, guidelines on recruiting and retaining staff, and links to workforce-monitoring groups.
