APhA seeks nominations for profession-wide awards, honors

The American Pharmacists Association (APhA) is accepting nominations for its annual profession-wide awards and honors. The awards will be presented at the APhA Annual Meeting and Exposition in New Orleans, March 9-12, 2012. The awards represent the pharmacy profession?s most comprehensive recognition program.

The American Pharmacists Association (APhA) is accepting nominations for its annual profession-wide awards and honors. The awards, which will be presented at the APhA Annual Meeting and Exposition in New Orleans, March 9-12, 2012, represent the pharmacy profession’s most comprehensive recognition program.

Awards and honors include: The Remington Honor Medal, Hugo H. Schaefer Award, Hubert H. Humphrey Award, Gloria Niemeyer Francke Leadership Mentor Award, Distinguished Federal Pharmacist Award, Generation Rx Award of Excellence, and Distinguished New Practitioner.

A description of all APhA awards as well as instructions and nomination forms are available online at www.pharmacist.com/awards or through written request to APhA Awards and Honors Program, 2215 Constitution Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20037-2985. The nominee must be an APhA member. Nominations must be received at APhA headquarters no later than September 15, 2011.

All nomination materials (with the exception of the Distinguished New Practitioner) should be sent to the attention of Brian Lawson (blawson@aphanet.org). Nominations for Distinguished New Practitioner should be sent to Meredith Nelson (mnelson@aphanet.org).

Honorary membership is conferred upon individuals, either within or outside of the pharmacy profession, whose activities and achievements have had a significant impact upon public health, the profession, and its practitioners.
