Despite efforts by law enforcement and increased security measures by many pharmacies, the number of pharmacy armed robberies across the country increased during the first five months of 2015, according to recently released statistics from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
The 382 pharmacy armed robberies (76.4 per month) reported between January 2015 and June 2015 is ahead of 2014’s pace of 69.16 robberies per month.

In some states, DEA statistics indicate that pharmacy armed robberies are practically non-existent. For example, Washington, South Dakota, Rhode Island, North Dakota, Montana, Delaware, and Connecticut all reported no pharmacy armed robberies during the first five months of 2015.
However, the problem persists in other areas. And one state is quickly earning the reputation as the pharmacy armed robbery capitol of the country.
